The bond between humans and chimpanzees is actually very similar to the bond between a dog and a human. Chimpanzees and humans have many similarities and in my opinion that’s what makes the bond between the two so close. The bond between a dog and a human thrives from dogs being territorial. Humans and dogs are reliable on each other and that is what strengthens the relationship between them. Dog’s and chimpanzee’s relationships with humans are similar because of their sociability, emotional bonds, and their ability to read body language.
The sociability between a chimpanzee and a human is comparable to the sociability between a human and a dog. Chimpanzees are affectionate and humorous. They may show affection by hugging or kissing; they may even chase and tickle. The difference between a human and chimpanzees is that a human’s sociability is more knowledgeable. A dog’s sociability is shown through being territorial and showing affection as well. Dogs may show territorialism through guarding their “human” and affection by licking or wagging their tail when they see their owner. Sociability is shown very similarly through both animals.
The emotional bonds between chimp and a human is proportional to the emotional bond with a dog and a human. A chimpanzee’s facial expressions and the way they socialize may be the reason that chimps and humans emotional bonds are so tight. Facial expressions allow chimps to show a range of emotions. Their ability to socialize can improve emotional bonds because they are able to express their emotions through body language or facial expressions. The bonds between dogs and humans may form from a dog’s territorialism and the fact that both humans and dogs rely on one another. A dog relies on a human to feed and pamper it while a human may rely on a dog for hunting or to keep them company. Both animals form emotional bonds with humans effectively.
Both chimps and dogs can effectively read a human’s body language, that may be the reason for the closeness between the two. Chimps have a very similar way of showing affection, body language, and facial expressions. That’s why they are close. When animals see similarities, it allows them to feel more comfortable in their environment because they feel at home. Generally dogs are treated as family members rather than as pets. Over 64 percent of the U.S. says that they consider their dogs as family members. I believe that since dogs are treated as family members and their learning capabilities are so strong, they are able to pick up on body language. Chimps and dogs are both capable of understanding a human’s body language.
Overall a chimp’s bond with a human is parallel to the relationship with a human and a dog. Dogs and chimps may be very different animals, but the way they bond with humans is similar . The bonds between the two compare and contrast, but are definitely in agreement with each other. Chimps bond well with humans because of their similarities to humans. Dogs and humans bond with each other because they rely on each other . They are alike because are both able to socialize, form emotional bonds, and read human body language.
